Quick answer
Pakistanis can get Turkey's online e-Visa only if they hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit (not an e-visa), are travelling for tourism or business, and can show a return ticket, a hotel booking and US$50 a day. As of October 2026 it is single entry, allows 30 days and costs US$48 plus service and insurance charges. Everyone else needs a sticker visa.

Turkey is one of the most popular trips for Pakistani families, and many people have heard there is an "online visa" for it. There is, but not for everyone. The Turkey e-Visa for Pakistani passport holders is conditional: you qualify only if you already hold certain other visas and meet a few travel conditions.
This guide is for Pakistani travellers deciding between the online e-Visa and a regular (sticker) visa. By the end, you will know exactly who qualifies, what the e-Visa costs as of October 2026, how long you can stay, how to apply on the official site, and how the sticker visa works if you don't qualify.
For a full overview of Turkey visas, documents and trip planning, see our Turkey visit visa guide. This post focuses only on e-Visa eligibility.
Can Pakistanis get a Turkey e-Visa?
Yes, but only on conditions. Türkiye's official e-Visa portal, evisa.gov.tr, lists Pakistan among the countries eligible for an e-Visa "provided that they meet required criteria". The same FAQ lists Pakistan among countries that cannot get a visa on arrival.
The Turkish Embassy in Islamabad's visa note for Pakistani nationals explains the deal in one line: if you hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, you can get a one-month, single-entry e-Visa online for tourism or commerce. Everyone else applies for a sticker visa through the official visa application centre.
What are the conditions for the Turkey e-Visa?
When you select Pakistan and an ordinary passport on evisa.gov.tr, the system asks you to confirm four conditions before you can continue. As of 17 October 2026, they are:
- Your passport covers the period you will stay in Türkiye.
- You are travelling for tourism or business.
- You have a valid supporting document: a visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland. E-visas are not accepted.
- You can prove you hold a return ticket, a hotel reservation and at least US$50 for each day of your stay.
Ticking the boxes is a declaration. Border officers can ask to see the proof, so carry it.
The supporting document
This is where most Pakistani applicants get stuck. Points to know:
- Accepted: a visa or residence permit issued by a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland.
- Used or unused is fine. The e-Visa FAQ says used or unused single-entry visas are accepted as long as their validity covers your entry date to Türkiye.
- Other countries' e-visas are not accepted. This matters for UK visitors. Our UK parents' visa guide explains that successful UK applicants now get an eVisa linked to their UKVI account rather than a sticker. Check whether the e-Visa form accepts your UK document before you pay.
- Validity: the FAQ says the document only has to be valid when you enter. However, the application form's own error messages refer to longer validity in some cases. Because the sources differ, plan for the stricter rule: keep your supporting visa or permit valid for your whole stay in Türkiye.
A Canadian, Australian or Gulf visa does not count. Neither does a UAE or Saudi residence permit.
Purpose of travel
The e-Visa is only for tourism and trade (business meetings). The FAQ says work and study visas must be applied for at Turkish embassies or consulates.
Passport validity
Türkiye's Law on Foreigners and International Protection (Article 7.1b), quoted in the e-Visa FAQ, requires a passport valid for at least 60 days beyond your permitted stay. The e-Visa system also checks your passport's expiry against your arrival date and blocks applications that fall short. We advise at least 6 months of validity, which is what the embassy asks for sticker visas.
How much does the Turkey e-Visa cost for Pakistanis?
The fee depends on nationality, so always check the amount shown for Pakistan on evisa.gov.tr. When we checked on 17 October 2026, the system showed:
| Charge | Amount (as of October 2026) |
|---|---|
| e-Visa fee | US$48 |
| Service fee and e-Visa travel insurance | US$18 combined |
| Card processing fee | Small amount shown at checkout |
Payment rules from the official FAQ:
- You can pay only by Mastercard, Visa or UnionPay credit or debit card with 3D Secure, enabled for international transactions. The card does not need to be in your name.
- The fee is only charged if the e-Visa is approved.
- Unused e-Visas are not refunded.
- If you make a mistake on the form, the e-Visa is invalid and the fee is not refunded. You must apply again.
How long can you stay on a Turkey e-Visa?
For Pakistani ordinary passport holders, the e-Visa system shows a single-entry visa with a 30-day stay and a 180-day validity period. Validity starts from the arrival date you enter on the form, and you can enter on any day within that period.
Validity and stay are different things. You can arrive any time within the 180 days, but once you enter you can stay a maximum of 30 days, and you cannot re-enter on the same e-Visa.
If you overstay, the FAQ warns of fines, deportation or a ban on future travel to Türkiye. To stay longer, you must apply for a residence permit at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management before your 30 days run out.
How do you apply for the e-Visa step by step?
- Check your supporting document. Confirm it is a sticker visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland, and that it is valid for your trip.
- Go to the official site only: evisa.gov.tr. Lookalike sites charge extra and may not be legitimate.
- Register and select your country. Choose Pakistan and "Ordinary Passport", then your arrival date.
- Confirm the four conditions listed above.
- Enter your supporting document details (type, issuing country and number) and upload it when asked.
- Fill in your personal and passport details exactly as in your passport. Put a middle name in the "Given Name(s)" field.
- Verify your email and pay within the time allowed. The FAQ says the payment step times out 24 hours after the email confirmation.
- Download the e-Visa PDF. The link appears on screen and is also emailed to you. Print it and keep a copy on your phone.
The FAQ advises applying at least 48 hours before departure. Families of 2 to 10 people with the same nationality, passport type and arrival date can use the family application and pay once.
Who needs a sticker visa instead?
You need a sticker visa if any of these apply:
- you don't hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit
- your only supporting document is another country's e-visa
- you are travelling to work, study or for any purpose other than tourism or business
- you want more than 30 days or multiple entries
- the e-Visa system says your application cannot be processed
Where to apply in Pakistan
The Turkish Embassy in Islamabad announced that Anatolia Travel Services is the sole authorised service provider for visa applications to Turkish missions in Pakistan. Its earlier notice lists centres in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Hyderabad. Anatolia only accepts applications. The decision is made by the Embassy in Islamabad or the Consulates General in Lahore and Karachi.
Anatolia's information page says you must apply at the centre that matches where you work, run your business or your CNIC address. For example, Punjab-based applicants apply in Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad or Gujranwala.
Sticker visa fees (as of October 2026)
The Embassy published this fee structure on 20 February 2026 for Pakistani and other non-EU passports:
| Visa | 3 months | 6 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single entry | PKR 52,200 | PKR 58,000 | PKR 63,800 |
| Multiple entry | Not available | Not available | PKR 98,600 |
Fees are paid in PKR cash only, are non-refundable and exclude GST. The VIP service costs PKR 4,350 extra.
Key points from the tourism checklist
Anatolia's tourism checklist, issued for the Turkish missions in Pakistan, includes:
- a passport valid for 180 days (single entry) or 365 days (multiple entry) from the travel date
- a typed cover letter, a NADRA Family Registration Certificate (FRC) or marriage certificate
- a bank statement for at least the last 3 months, an account maintenance certificate and FBR tax returns
- a job letter and salary slips, or business registration documents
- a hotel reservation and a return ticket reservation (it advises against buying tickets before the visa)
- travel health insurance of at least US$60,000 from an insurer approved by the missions
The checklist recommends applying between 15 days and 3 months before travel. It also says that if your Turkish visa was refused in the last 6 months, you cannot apply again until 6 months have passed.
e-Visa or sticker visa: which one fits you?
| e-Visa | Sticker visa | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can use it | Holders of a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit | Any Pakistani applicant |
| Where | Online at evisa.gov.tr | Anatolia visa application centre |
| Entries and stay | Single entry, 30 days | Single or multiple, as granted |
| Fee | US$48 plus service and insurance charges | From PKR 52,200 |
| Documents uploaded | Supporting visa or permit | Full file: bank, tax, job, FRC, insurance |
| Purpose | Tourism or business | Tourism, business, family, study, work and more |
Common mistakes
- Assuming any foreign visa counts. Only Schengen, US, UK and Irish visas or residence permits do.
- Using a UK, Schengen or other e-visa as the supporting document without checking whether the system accepts it.
- Booking from a non-official "Turkey e-visa" website that charges a mark-up.
- Typing a passport number or name that doesn't match the passport exactly. The e-Visa becomes invalid, with no refund.
- Arriving without the return ticket, hotel booking or funds you declared.
- Staying beyond 30 days because the e-Visa says "valid for 180 days".
- Applying for a sticker visa at the wrong Anatolia centre for your CNIC address or workplace.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my UK visit visa to get a Turkey e-Visa?
Only if the e-Visa system accepts it. Türkiye's e-Visa FAQ says e-visas issued by other countries are not accepted as supporting documents. UK visit visas are now usually issued as eVisas rather than a sticker in the passport, so a UK eVisa may not qualify. Check the supporting document step on evisa.gov.tr before you pay, and use the sticker visa route if it is rejected.
Does my Schengen visa need to be unused or multiple entry?
No. The official FAQ says previously used or unused single-entry visas are accepted, as long as the visa is still valid on the day you enter Türkiye. Because the application form's own checks can ask for longer validity, it is safest if your Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa covers your whole stay in Türkiye.
Can Pakistanis get a visa on arrival in Turkey?
No. Türkiye's e-Visa FAQ lists Pakistan among the countries whose citizens can get an e-Visa (if they meet the conditions) but cannot get a visa on arrival. Sort out your e-Visa or sticker visa before you fly, otherwise the airline is likely to refuse boarding.
Do children need their own Turkey e-Visa?
Yes. Each traveller needs a separate e-Visa, and a child needs their own passport. Families of 2 to 10 people can use the family application and pay once, but every member must meet the same conditions, including holding a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit.
What if the e-Visa system says my application cannot be processed?
The official FAQ advises applying for a visa through a Turkish embassy or consulate instead. In Pakistan that means a sticker visa submitted at an Anatolia Travel Services centre. The e-Visa fee is only charged when an e-Visa is approved.
